Star Crossed
By Litteratus
The Sun, the most jealous star,
Wished my love whole, not in part.
I admired her glory against the blue,
Yet once she turned and the curtain withdrew,
Revealing the gems she cruelly hid,
My eyes and tears downward sadly slid.
Must I martyr my heart by starlight
To banish the threat of eternal night?
