  • "Still As Pulse Pounding And Soul-Fire Stoking As The First Time I Read This :) Great Work."

  • "brilliant. feels like a struggle of someone in the grip of dementia trying to regain sanity but not knowing how.. lovely wordplay, skill shone through in this work. "and i do not recognize love anymore" hit home for me. if that happened to me i'd go mad too. great, great, great piece."

  • "Yes. This IS art of the highest order. I'm dumb founded and yes, I'm an idiot in comparison. Truly brilliant. I'm in awe. I too have been published a bunch of times, made a little money, fuck knows why when I read this, everything pales in comparison. Your intellect as it manifests in such word plays and cultural, historical, architectural examples is much admired. Even if I don't understand a poem completely I can still feel it. I remain gloriously perplexed."

  • "I love this one. It's so incredibly true. Especially in our time of Picasa linking to GoogleEarth, and you can basically see the entire world without leaving your apartment or even putting on pants. These days, I think I too am more likely to be surprised by a weed than by a famous landmark. This might explain why most of my trip photography ends up being of random doorknobs."

  • "I read and re-read your poems quite frequently (whenever I get back to DP after an absence), but I almost never leave a comment. Because . . . what is there to say? You are one of the few poets (on DP and generally) whose work I can just get lost in. I never feel the need to find a bit that sticks out, because it's all so integral. Just wanted to say, thanks for being around."

  • "went camping one weekend.. it was after a stretch of very warm days and the night we arrived to our site a cold front was passing through. we hiked down to the river to check where its level was.. as we came down the dock steps something amazing unfolded. the warm water had generated this steam rising from the river in the cold air... the steam was rushing from the banks creating a teepee effect directly in front of where we stood... roughly 15 foot tall.. I say teepee as its only fitting for a river named Suwannee. It lasted an hour. I felt special for being there at that moment. I've traveled a bit. Seen Niagara, it was cool. NYC was neat. Airballoons in NM. Blue waters of Cozumel. Blarney in Ireland..etc. That moment on the Suwannee remains my favorite. It was impossible to capture on film and I'm failing its description; but its mine. "

  • "I followed the poem of the day to this :) So glad I did. What an engrossing and wildly captivating write. Your way is so intelligent, so thoughtful, so contemporary and yet, I feel undertones with all these myths and bones. A most excellent piece."

  • "ha! I just found this. Great poem. So simple and so profound. Especially the notion of lending pennies, I wonder what that means? Bookmarked!"
