- "5 years is quite an achievement, well done! Likewise I took meds for a few yrs to get over the inertia I guess you could say but then it is all me the rest of the way, including change of diet, regular exercise and even aquiring more uplifting music to get me through. You strike me as a strong lady (which of course does not exempt you from having a tender heart or vunerablities by any means) so no doubt you will be one the people to take it by the horns. The first step for some is making the choice not to be beaten. You're right too, the outside world can contribute and entice us but it can't make us act angry or adopt the attitude of failure. - "Depression is a disease that robs ones ability to desire something better for him/herself. To fight against it is to do the undoable, to commit the un~commitable, to survive something whose purpose is to keep one from wanting to do so. I've been clean five years now, so to speak, and though certain meds did help it was me getting up and moving forward that caused the greatest change. It was the refusal to look away from the parts of ME that could be changed as opposed to blaming the world for causing my depression. Absolutely right. Hails."

- "I like the positive theme...it's something I've thought quite a bit about and tried to put into practice...I'm concerned that wallowing in negativity and talking about it and expressing it and noticing it in others and writing about it constantly just brings more of the same...they say misery loves company... well it also likes to breed and fester and infect everything around it too...I'm sure it would make a cool song...do you have a beat or melody line yet to fit it into?...otherwise I'm sure the lyrics could be tweaked if needed ... thanks :)"

- "Indeed but like the majority of stuff I write it depends n ur hearts intention as to how u read it... To kind ppl it is a sincere act of friendship to nasty ppl, they may read it as a situation when someone plays the violin in mock sympathy and my reply is "Now you can go fly a kite bud" :) There are a few lines in this song with that style of ambiguity. I'm sure the person I wrote it for will read the good in it though :D ~Ash"

- "good reality check, words to revisit... to inspire progress... aim for the middle ground... sounds like Aristotle's 'mean' or Epicurus' search for tranquility and balance.... I always tell people... when the occasion arises, that if they are not satisfied with their lives, then each day they should be working out a plan to change em... ya know.... like the question, what have you done today to make your tomorrow better than today?.... something to think about.... good reality check, definitely words to live by here. be well!"
