Daddy
By SnowQueen
How big did you feel each time you pushed me down?
Each time you punched, slapped, or kicked me around?
You know that saying? Every girl looks for her father in a guy?
Id have to be a masochist remembering all the times you made me cry...
Oh Daddy, could you only love me with your fists?
It must have been a strong love- because you never missed.
You got away with it for so long.. never got in any trouble at all
Raised three children with a warped view of what is normal..
But Im older now. I wont put up with your abuse
When the cops saw the bruises you had no excuse
So youre out of my life now.. you should have never been in it
Your abuse is burnt into my mind- Ill remember every hit
Now I can look forward to a future of sleepless nights
Waking up in cold sweats, flashes of all the fights
I remember that time you pushed me down a flight of stairs
Had me convinced that nobody would help because nobody really cares
Theres no doubt about it- Ill remember every time you lost
control
Like when you pushed my head against the wall so hard it made a hole
Or all the bruises I had to cover up just to go to school
I cant believe that my own father could ever be so cruel
Its all over now- Im so happy youre in jail
Ill make sure you dont forget me- Ill still write to
you by mail
Ill send you a card that says Fuck You on fathers
day
Im the loving daughter, that always knew just what to say
I really want you to think of me at night when youre alone in your
cell
Think of the fact that when men like you die- they go straight to hell.

This was moving, women look for someone like their father or someone completely opposite of their father, judging from the poem I guess it's safe to say you look for the later.

Wow, powerful. I am so sorry you had to go through this. I felt like I was living through it, just reading the poem. You put powerful emotions into words. Excellent, SnowQueen.

I hate when people say things like "but he's still your father" (brother in my case). So what if they're family. Fuck the bastards.

Fuck. I have never felt more pain reading a poem. It was like a page torn right out of my childhood. Never give up hope and never stop fighting. Your body my be struck, but it doesn't have to bruise your soul.
