Cockroach
By Disassembly Boy
I remember, so sickly,
You crawling on your belly
like a cockroach.
Making your way towards me
with a compound eye.
All you saw was broken.
Shattered pieces of me spread in vast expansion.
If only you knew what you were heading for,
maybe you'd be running the other way.
I remember feeling sorry for you,
but not really caring.
Just feeling sorry.
The greed of hunger is visceral,
and so is the notion of killing you.
But I love to watch you tremble,
watch you move; anticipate.
You live your life in darkness
only to be exposed; Vulnerable.
Smashed.
And I remember every second,
thinking to myself
how small you've made me feel,
how many times you've crawled inside,
made me sick.. Crushed me.
And without a second thought
I felt you crack beneath the weight of my shoe
then quickly walked away.
