Your name on paper(i cant break the habit)

By BeautifullyRuined

You left me here cacooned in lies
that are as transparent as smudged glass
with the sun dancing through
your fingerprints
to blind my closed eyes

I`m scared to pick up my pen
for i know all i`ll write is substitutes
for your name that will bring
you back to life on paper
and i want you to stay dead to me

Don`t you realize my words
are the only thing that
ever made you
beautiful
and it was a waste of
perfectly good ink

I promised i`d wait for you
to find out who you are
but all you found
is that without me
your nothing

I broke that promise
without batting one mascara
coated eyelash in
the direction i was sure
you ran

You were always scared of commitment
little did you know
i was committing all your
flaws to memory
to turn into a poetry
you`ll never understand

because you have such a short
attention span reguarding
others peoples feelings
you didnt realize
you killed a little more
of the love you always
took for granted

I`m sorry there`s nothing left

Very powerful. It's tough to have patience with those who can't take the time to care. I liked the idea of turning shortcomings into ink. Write on.
