A Ghost, Once a Wife

By Savannah

Past me you look,
With no glance, with no smile.
Seldom we speak,
Been so long, been a while.

You stare past my face,
As I scream, as I cry.
Tears roll down my cheeks,
You just walk, walk right by.

I call out your name,
You don't stop, you don't wait.
I am passed once again,
My love calls, yours abates.

When once I was part,
Of your soul, of your life
I now am a shadow,
A ghost, once a wife.

A beautiful poem! I know how that feels, that's why I'm divorced. I applaud you for the beauty of the delivery of the ugly concept you have portrayed.

There is probably nothing worse than being treated as a shade of the past. You have my admiration for being able to write about this, and in such a splendid way. I sincerely hope that solace will be yours.
