A fate worst than death

By BroKen-GlaSSHeArT

i hum a soft lullaby against
your ice cold absence
and i imagine that
you can hear me cry

the morning light is blue
in the guilt of my eyes
cradling the pieces of paradise
shattered in a midnight confession

i will admit that you are
the only one i love
despite evidence that
suggests the contrary

you left me with a cryptic goodbye
and a glimpse of life without love
its enough to show me
there are things worst than death

i promise if you love me i will
kiss the tears from your eyes
even when my hand was stained crimson
i held you when it hurt the most

closing my eyes i pretend that
i am not really alone more like
I'm waiting for you to come home
while i keep the bed warm just in case
