There's a Cemetery Behind Your House

By Fading_Smile

The discouragement of dial tones that mimic one-syllable laughter
I always was a green light away from serenation
with a single click you detonated my frayed summer
and I crawled into the corner of a circle, consumed by depression

I found the corner of a circle to sulk in

I dug a hole to escape society
accomplishing nothing but life closer to hell
I fertilized seeds with tears, a rose garden above me
I waited for their roots to delve deeper, so I could strangle myself

Why did I always feel like your thorn?

Maybe next time you see a flower
you will remember I'm buried in your backyard
spades of acquaintances striking ground so sour
you still have the shovel to uncover my heart

I guess that's why you don't buy milk anymore

Definately one of my favorites from you, so far. I rather look forward to your posts, man.

  • A former member wrote: "Maybe next time you see a flower/you will remember I'm buried in your backyard" This is beautifully woven...an intricacy of heartache mingling with not wanting to grow elsewhere. Beautiful. ~*Beth*~
