mortality

By BroKen-GlaSSHeArT

There is always the matter;
Of choosing your own demise…
Every breathe brings you closer
-Closer to your divine fantasy.
For we live on borrowed time
-And we breathe in broken glass,
Clinging to the long gone with desperate hands;
Numerous shards of memory embedded in your very bones.

When you sigh;
You can feel the empty space.
Between yesterday,
And the uncertain horizon.

Few things that are meant to last…
-Flesh rots and bones turn to ash.
We only live as long as we are remembered
-But one day that all will be gone;
The buildings will collapse,
Your precious city will be a mere ruin.

Even the essential changes.
The rebels of today;
That stand out so well
-Are only the conservatives of tomorrow.

Yours will join a thousand souls,
Somewhere unknown beyond the grave.
- And this flesh will be merely a vessel,
Through which we live once.
But if you love someone you can live forever;
Passion remains long after the heart stops…
Fire burns to ash but the heat remains.

A soul that loves is doomed to lose;
But complete submission can spell freedom.
-We are free to spend our bodies as we please,
Free to waste away on romantic fantasy.

And when there is nothing left but goodbye,
The fire in your love struck eyes will carry on.
Energy can never truly die;
It only moves from one place to another
-And so you shall follow the steps of lovers past,
Momentous opportunities taken by a thousand men;
Will bring you the moments, which last a life time.
Sighs colored by the smiles of many women,
Will haunt your dreams till the day you die…
There is strength in the heart that defies logic;
And loves even when they hold a shadow.

We believe a sweet lie when the truth hurts.
-The pleasure of sensual promise coaxes the flesh to persevere;
Under the most hopeless of human conditions.
