Windows to the Soul

By stuart_pid

Those eyes.
Your pallid, pensive eyes.
As cold and blue as winter skies.
The brow sinks as anger rises.
Crying.
Trying to hide the tears but failing.
Trailing off with soft repine.
Peering deeply into mine.
Searching for a reason why
When finally you realize
That everything you saw in me
Was nothing more than lies.
