I'm Sorry Butterball

By Myrrhkuri the fallen one

I'm sorry I couldn't protect you
from a world far too cruel.
A death much to horrible
for grandpa's little jewel.

I tried to show you comfort
in the last hour of your life.
I hope you remember I loved you
though I couldn't save your life.

A precious little baby my silver Butterball
the time I had I loved you and now miss you most of all.
I can't stop the feelings, I lost a precious soul
I held you close and tightly didn't want to let you go.

Your soft baby tummy, your tiny little toes
your wide baby eyes, baby kisses and tiny nose.
I whispered in your ear it's okay buddy goto sleep
and when you wake again you can have some big boy treats.

I told you goto sleep so you could go and play
but I didn't want you to, didn't want you to go away.
You're my precious baby, I hope at least you knew
although I couldn't help you, I still keep loving you.

Oh man. Dead kittens are horribly depressing, too. This vote is going to be super tough.
