The Black Halo
By Redemption
Long after the choirs of the faith vanquished
I remained silent
Remembering what once was that gripped me so
How these once holy hall rang with echos of faith
But now I know how it truely was
That day I turned my back on what was "Almighty"
And why does nothing remain?
Where the are many who came here each day?
Perhaps gone to some other interest
Leaving behind these empty seats
Covered with many days dust
And seal doorways...no longer welcoming
Where has this heaven gone?
In fact, where is God now?
Maybe this lone vessel should hold a gathering
For the Funeral of God...
But who would come I wonder?
And how would we hold it?
Perhaps read from these dusty books
Once known as the books of Life
And who would read from them?
The servants are now free
Inked out from the book of the lamb
And locked out from the golden gates above
Now that there is no Heaven, no Hell
Where is the after-life?
Is Humanity doomed to fade away into oblivions welcome?
To ponder such I beyond me...
After all, Humans will carry on
Like the Greeks hath after Zeus perished from their minds
And Native Americans after their Creator was absorbed
By what is deceased in front of me...
A pale, dusty cross
Lightened by the stained glass that lost its luster
Who kneels to this now?
An artifact for the religions
Blasphemous thoughts leave me now
I must leave this place
And reseal these long shut off doors
If only my thoughts were what was...alas
But let me take one last look around
And seal these long sealed doors
My heresy, shall hopefully go silently
...Curious sheep, you 'll not notice this black halo
Enjoy what the father has lain before you
I know you'll destroy it, just like those before you...
Such a shame he wastes it with these Humans
Curse you father...
My rise is slow, and the skies are grey
Truely a beautiful sight...this Earth
Now, I must leave my heresy, my black halo here
Along with all the filth where it belongs
My thoughts truely not his will
But why must everything be his own
Curse you Lucifer for touching my Halo
The black stain never vanishes...

Huh...deep, man. Just fuckin' deep. Muah. I'm not one to read anything that has any religion in it...even if I write it sometimes. But even for a religious(or-lack-thereof) piece..pretty damn good.
