Neverending Journey
By wandering druid
This journey isn't over
But I lie against a tree
Wounds running red in numbness
Shadow fingers play across my eyes
What use is the striving
When it shall move me
Only a few more paces
From this place
Where I serenely lie?
What hope shall rescue me
When all hope appears to die?
The journey is a thousand leagues
Away and still I linger
In the softening light
Near a bubbling river
There is no reason to go on
If death takes me from the end
Why not wait to die here
If he lurks around the bend?
I only wish to sleep...
A whisper from the wind
A shudder from the tree
Half a sentence from the river
To get me on my feet
Light from the lunar Mother
Sends me on my way
Mends my wounds and gives me strength
To live another day
Words from companions fallen
Echo in my mind
"Death is no end to this journey
There's always something more to find."

the metaphors and questions of this piece is a complete tempest of provoking thought...gloom and solid darkness...the substance of dark poetry not necessrily in blood and gore of horror...such a philosphical poetry cob-webbed and crawled by spiders
