Would that my blood heal
By wandering druid
Keening grief for a thousand lives
In tears of snow
To love and joy the heart did strive
before it grew so cold
Waves of sorrow break upon
The jagged stones
Wracking loss-pains felt so long
Have become overgrown
Would that my wrists bleed freely
Would that my life blood begin to well
Would that it run in fountains
And renew the earth to which it fell
Laments of the earth and air
Pine to my rended soul
A bountiful land so wild and fair
turned barren by Man's control
No forest lands left chaste
Deflowered plains roll, pain untold
Deep grasslands turned to waste
And no mountain face has been left whole
Would that blood flow from me
And renew the land like the god of the grove
The christians have their messiah
But who will save these lands we've known
I would die for Nature
As for Nature I have tried to live
If my blood could mend Her wounds
Then I would let all that I could give
Then maybe She would live again..

restore what we've selfishly utilised...others have written similar poems of humanity's antiques, but this was pure art. the last stanza brought everything together for this heart-breaking lament.
