tearing down what we've torn up

By no one at all

lets rebuild that bridge we burned
though the embers still glow red
its time to take back all of
those hateful things we said
and if in the end we can be happy
then lets just skip ahead
lets just skip ahead
skip ahead

i've found again the things
that meant so much to me
i've also found its not the things
that mattered
but the meaning
and the diamonds gone from my ring
but its still on that fourth finger
what does it mean?
does it mean anything?
anything...

time has become so much more
a real thing
and as the seconds drift away
i can't help but think
we've wasted such time on
feeling sorry for ourselves
its time to just be
...just be

can life, love and logic
all co-exist?
i once believed whole-heartedly
that they did
but when all the proof i had
just turned into shit...
i think i'll pick one and make it stick
yeah i'll pick one, and stick with it
but i don't want to pick
don't want to pick...
