Dark Poets
By Gideon Lost
Come brothers and sisters
With black sullen hearts turned towards the sky
Darker are the shadows
Cast by the moon
And muted are its highlights
Gather ‘round as we
Wallow in the place where painful truths
Are blurred by bleak eyes
And a wistful dank mist
Dampens all cold thoughts
Come Dark Poets
Stir the sordid stew
Cooked over cold stones
Commiserating with one another
Over rotten seeds planted in barrenness
For here foul, twisted things can grow
Benign to the real world
Appreciated for what they are.

Talk about nailing down the essence, the stuttering blackened heart of this collection. You, sir, are truly gifted.
