Creature
By October Death
You hide in the deepest,
Darkest places of my mind.
You try to force yourself out
But I will you to stay there.
You lurk in my dreams
When I'm sleeping, you explore.
I can't always watch over you.
When I'm sleeping, you're in control.
Of my thoughts, my mind.
You creep through my memories,
Careful not to wake me.
You feed on my pain, my sorrows.
That is your energy.
Soon you will become stronger than my mind.
What then?
Will you slowly take my body away...
While I sleep?
How do I fight you if you are inside my body?
Slowly owning me from inside out?
To defeat you, I must do the prophesied.
You can't hurt anybody...
If you are dead.
And to murder you, I must end myself.

This sounds dark, yet very heroic and self sacrificial. Just wonderful and very well thought out. Wicked poem! =)

I have felt this same thing many times, and the feeling is never pleasant. It is something which though you may be in control, will always remind you that it is there... Anyways, enough rambling - good poem. ~ Asheai
