If I died tonight,
Would anyone care?
Would anyone cry?
Would I be remembered
For whom I tried to be?
Or for whom I failed to be?
If I left tonight,
Would anyone go look for me?
Would anyone search?
Would I be forgotten
As the memories of me died away?
As my remembrance failed?
If I died tonight,
Very few would care
And fewer still would cry.
Never to be remembered for whom I was,
But for whom I could not be.
If I left tonight,
Few would look for me
And none would think to search.
I would be lost to the flow of time,
As memories of me died away.
