All That Could Have Been..

By Deadly Embrace

Based on: Nine Inch Nails (all that could have been)

The rain softly pounds along the ground,
Caring such sadness in the depths of this sound,
I fall to my knees..
Pleading just this once,
Never have I asked,
But I need this so much.
Locked inside my nothing..
Beauty glistens..
A shadow of which,
I should have listened.
But I followed my heart,
Or what's left of these pieces.
I fell for such beauty,
As bright as the stars,
To break something much more..
Than my fragile heart.

Please..
Take this,
And run away as far as you can see..
I am tainted.
That happiness and peace of mind.
Were never meant for me..

The breeze still carrys the sound,
But this time..
I shall not be found.
For I looked with the depths,
Of such hope-filled eyes,
To feed me nothing more..
Than fairytale lies.
Now I reach out,
If only you could see.
That in this life...
You mean everything..
Everything to me..

the second stanza.. was wonderful. the pain and still a flicker of hope absolutely crowned this write. "For I looked with the depths, Of such hope-filled eyes, To feed me nothing more.. Than fairytale lies"-amazing line..
