smithereens.

By FindAgentX

in my mind i'm still studying stones... sitting beside her, ignoring the words but basking in the sound of her voice.
and now i'm kicking tin cans in the empty parking lot of my head.

i keep trying to retrace my steps... backtrack. to see where it all went wrong... what exactly started this collosal explosion in my brain?

and i see now that i never had a chance...
and i see now that i never should have bothered...
and i see now that i never will succeed in the way i want to.

it's already over.
smithereens.

"ignoring the words but basking in the sound of her voice.". . .damn this is a really great piece. this emptiness is very familiar, detached in a way. nicely done

Lovely piece!!! I like the notion of kicking cans in the "empty parking lot of my head." Love your style so much. Ciao, T/S Scholar

very well written - loved the freedom of the poem contrasting the structure of your character..."now I'm kicking tin cans in the empty parking lot of my head" ...very nice - josh

I think this is a beautiful expression of how being infatuated with a person consumes you completely. Your world is inside yourself, in your head.. then you lose it and it's a serious case of "where the fuck am I?" Very impressive work, for sure.

"sitting beside her, ignoring the words but basking in the sound of her voice." ..in love with the idea of it, rather than what it all means.. what entails, what it consists of..

So easy to fall in love with the beauty, the shinyness of the Rolex watch.. you're too taken with it to realise it's a rip off, or doesn't work, doesn't fit etc... awesome work
