Picture Perfect Betty.
By Amanda Parnell
Picture perfect Betty,
Preserved in hand blown glass.
Was put upon display today,
to the public mass.
Many had passed with their
"Oh's and Awes...",
Others just stare
in wonder.
How could such a beauty
hold such a smile,
While showing
her chips
of a broken past,
laid upon this
hand blown glass?
Over time this
masterpiece
had been tossed around,
mistreaded.
Every slip of the
uncautious hand
droped her
to break into cracks.
Critics made their
judgements to quickly,
letting everyone know,
that this was not a
work of art,
how could she show so
much heart?
And with every word,
chipping her slowly away,
falling around her like dust.
One things will always
remain,
a tear of a broken past.
It lies next to her,
like a mystery
to always last.
