crawl

By mysticventures

On hands and knees I crawl
In the very depths of hell
And
Buried, bruised and bleeding though my soul may be -
I crawl on

Blinded
by the sulfurous fumes of my existence -
I crawl on

Choked
by the belching pollution of society's ills -
I crawl on

Tormented
and tortured by souls more lost than I -
I crawl on

Groping my way through life like a zombie in placid delusion -
I crawl on

What fortitude is this that drives me ever onward
I cannot say
Yet
Instead of curling up to die in the oozing stinking slime that is my world -
I crawl on

And on
And on
And on
