Hope Fuel Dreams (Revised Repost)
By Drifter
Muscles recoil from the shock of hope given to others
And my body recieves it's dues
I sit with my hands shaking
like dried leaves in a rain storm
I'm crippled by the temporary temprature in my mind
And i know after this final dawn
the menace will return to raise another moon
And once again i'll burn in the dry storms of my mind
And i'll watch the rain fall on the fields by my home
And i'll stay dry in my apathy
I will not be quenched of the repugnant thirst
For if you stop to smell the rain that others feel
Softly patting them on the backs for jobs done with breath's given
You might smell the fuel that falls from heaven
As it incinerates my sanity
We are given hope and goals and dreams by morn
And sulk in the failure that we cast upon ourselves in darkness
And i sit sickly shaking sober ideals of a life worth living out of my
mind
And into my life
So that i can once again touch the sunshine
And taste the rain
As i once did
As i once was
Hopeful of a better tomorrow
Living in an average today
Give me the day of my dreams
And the wet life giving rains wont wreak of insecurities
And i'll sleep next to the body i miss
And i'll sleep
And dream again
Of cool wet rain of the purest taste
Rolling over my still cupped hands
