Falling cinders

By Exodus

In walks the silence,
It settles upon the dead
Like ragged noise

It never quite fits

The feel

Her shadow mocks those
Of an elegant grace
In which she lacks

She staggers onto

The ballroom floor

All eyes stare

At her running mascara
And her messy hair

Her dress torn to shreds

Can anyone see the insanity?
The sorrow?

Nope, they just see the ugly.
Mistakenly ugly.

I hear ya, we do need to look past what is on the outside instead of looking past that to see a wonderful person that lays behind shabby clothes. Great read!

Well what i mean is, if i were to go out in public with messy hair and smeared this and that and torn clothes...i would get stares and most people would think i look awfull, people just dont see past it...you know?

The problem with the human mind is that 99% of the time, it's running on autopilot. People don't think, they just react in ways they've learned/been taught to react.

If someone actually paused to ask themself, "what has happened to this woman that would cause her to look like this?", they would come to an entirely different conclusion... but, sadly, very few people really know how to think.

As for the poem... it's awesome, and good job creating an interesting discussion... one sign of really good writing is that it drags people into deep thought ;)

I can easy understand this and also in a strange way relate to it. But I got a hard time with the pictures. Think its becouse I was "made" in a time where we didnt give a shit if anyone looked funny at us, and looked like shit with pride. A kind of ...

"Hey if you cant see beyond my long unwashed hair, piercings and unmatching clothings. Then I dont give a shit about you" ... We where happy to be like that, and I still dosnt give it much thought today.

And it was not even realy to provoke becouse we didnt give it much thought at all hehe So I dont think I would be sorry to see her like that. Only if people gave her a hard time. Then I would notice. Tiger
