Biodegradable

By sole

Styrofoam, Hefty bags,
Glad wraps, and paper rags.
Easily disposable and mass produced,
Sinister actions are on the loose.

These one-use-wonders are my worst fear,
With more flooding the market every year.
Easy to throw away and magically disappear,
Making it easier for this trash to persevere.

"Please don't litter here,
Trash doesn't belong on the ground."
Even though that's exactly where it's found,
One hundred miles from here.

Taught to be clean with the trash unseen.
Infecting papers, wrappers, and personal matters.
Lay your eyes on the best and hide the rest,
Waste out of the way of our vanity crave.

Cover up the smell in the middle of no where.
If you can't see it and you can't breathe it,
Whose going to care?
A consequent nightmare dastardly repugnant,
Further infecting our trash filled republic--

A culture of garbage can convicts
Swarming like mindless flies
Vomiting away our chance to realize
We inherited this scourge, a prolonging plague,
Nonchalantly carrying on in our horrid display.

I see trucks rolling by polluting the days,
Picking up my trash, but the trash always stays.

Thanks. I actually wrote this about a month ago and this is the second incarnation of it as the first was even more forced in my opinion. I may polish it up even more later but I'm content with it for now. Thanks for the comments.

This flowed very smoothly. This trash is 100% recycled.

Quite. (here in Sydney, all the bins have been removed from the central train platforms because, apparently, terrorists might put bombs therein. Really. I just... Sigh.) purr
