Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend
By Quietus
They claw their way into my mind
The deepest, darkest parts they find
They make themselves a tidy nest
Haunting me is their only quest
My memories are their own playground
They ride my trauma like a merry-go-round
Grasping my attention is their favorite thing
I take comfort in the chaos they bring
Every night, right on the dot
They start to consume my every thought
This disordered routine, I now enjoy
We've become each other's most favored toy
I wait for them as I close my eyes
From the depths of my conscious, they soon arise
As they begin their fun, I descend
Demons, after all, are a girl's best friend.
