Mice More Wise Than Cheese

By Abberant

It was toilsome
Speaking words
And letters
With-

Knives--dancing
On my heart; pulling softly
Away amongst
Each exhaled, inhale

So I shut down-
Deactivated,
All-
Of-me.

'Hello'

I mustered whilst slumped.

To a mouse more wise
Than cheese,

But I spoke in
Elephant sounds.

It was the yellow that shimmered
Inside--
That succumbing sound
Which remained.
And I struggle again

To stay sober because
These knives are pulling
Freshly in severance

Of my memorial heart.

Peanut butter works best in my palm rat traps Ab. This was a metaphorical marvel on fear and the enigmatic title indicates a survival preference above the mundane. Cheers! - Dan
