The Lament
By Tagen
Across the dust my steps do fade
Silence has chipped all life away
The night is long; my breath is drawn
For silence is a lonely song.
Beneath the stars my love does lay
Where I shall fall and weep and pray
Caught in the rain; lost in dismay
I drop more tears upon thy grave.
Sober skies and stained glass eyes
All precious ways for thee to die
False angels weep; my love for thee
Remains a secret not to keep.
Now courage waits the hour when
I break my hands and bury them
My sorrows borne; thy beauty torn
The night is long... I love no more.

Yes, this is haunting. I think Edgar would be proud. I would be if I were him.
