Inner Napes
By Eadgar Anton Crowe
I saw a star falling from the sky
An asteroid of breath
Like a whisper to the floor of life
From lips long lost to me
I waded into the thick of the day I knew as death
And wept not from fear but victory
The star was fallen, shattered to simple humanity
And her beauty was unknown
Unknown to me, to such a world of hate
And despite my greatest faith she stayed
Aloft only my shoulders
Neither worthy of her nor knowing her truth
Could I love such a queen as this?
Be worthy of her care, her kiss?
Can I be the moon to her sun
The pit beneath her dazzling pendulum?
Would I know her inner napes
As well as I've come to know
The outer ones

Majestic. Your poetry is true to art, like you've lived in the 1800s and are akin to the greats in whose style you pen. I am truly blown away with each piece!

The gracefulness of the words is phenomenal! The structure of the poem is amazing. "Unknown to me, to such a world of hate
And despite my greatest faith she stayed", was my favorite line. You are a hopeless romantic just like me. Beautiful Work!
