A Romance of Ravens;

By whisperingwalls

Dancing at the edge of an uncovered grave

A swirling cascade of moonlit memorials

;A Romance of Ravens.

Here
the buried
and forsaken
weather shallow tombs
of plush
and velvet

Corpses Claustrophobic

; Dreaming of Air.

Oh Woe
Woe
The Waking Dead!

fill row upon row
with discordant moans
clutching to their
heirlooms

And like an Undertakers lantern

;Snuffing out lost souls.

Glad you enjoyed this work, I love the beauty and elegance I was able to bring out of the dark.

  • A former member wrote: It is always a pleasure for me to read a beautiful and dark piece.. And ravens are one of the greatest creatures to open the mind and the spirit to an inviting place of desolation and peace.. I could see the ravens before my eyes.. Cool imagery! Thank you for sharing! :)

like opening a long closed book of classic work, etched leather and time stained pages... the tone and feel more weighted with its language but no less graceful... well done

Corpses Claustrophobic... I really love that, and also "clutching to their heirlooms" . Really cool piece.

Much appreciated! Corpses claustrophobic is one of my favorite lines as well.. And the second line was a reflection on materialism.

The grave sounds so uninviting here, I don't wish to be a corpse for long, dust in the wind is my choice... Wonderfully dark and gothic, great stuff.

  • A former member wrote: Marvelous. I'll confees to being reminded of the tv show on the line "the walking dead". The final two are wonderful though.
