Between Heads and Tails 2

By Peyton1

Part 2 will not make sense unless you have read part 1

These vile things now aware of my presence, begin closing from every direction
An unfathomable multitude of all things wicked, I'm in the open with no protection

These are the beings,
The ones not seen,
That await in shadowed corners and every bad dream

This breath may be my last,
They're closing in so fast,
It would surely do me no good to scream

A darkly distorted figure of indiscernible shape, my body begins to debilitate
A sword of luminescent black flame, my demise with which to facilitate

As sunlight would erupt into a dark room, her voice suddenly pierces this realm
Echoing from a great distance, yet up close and afflictive, all existence it doth overwhelm!

"Cease these feeble exploits this instant, lest ye suffer my insatiable wrath!"
"Wise would thou be, my tone to heed, else this quickly becomes a blood bath!"

Picking myself up off the ground,
My body still reeling from the sound,
I look up to see her blocking the path of death's fiery blade

"Listen carefully to me,"
She says to the dark thing,
"and let not from my words thine attention fade."

"A new chain of events thou set to motion, hence we gather amongst the souls of fools.
Mortals are not permitted access to this place, your minions have broken the rules."

"These creatures stir to inflict unspeakable chaos, upon every world they'd unleash dark talents.
A penance by all now must surely be paid, to restore this most delicate balance."

The dark mass takes a hideous form,
Speaks to her with absolute scorn,
"It seems thou hast but forgotten thine rightful place, white witch!"

His eyes seething with defiance,
Boldly signaling non-compliance,
"Do run along now, mind your business, and don't be a little snitch!"

"This mortal is of pure heart." She says, "You used the 'coin of passage', it's long since forbidden."
"He thus is allotted refuge beneath my wings, in this matter thine authority is overridden."

"We shall see foolish witch, overconfidence now is the tone in that which thou speak."
"You've not escaped yet," He scowls, "afar through the heavy darkness, the exit which thou seek."

The sword she unsheathes is such a penetrating light, it forces me to shield my eyes
A blinding flash adheres the dark one to the ground, she now turns to face his allies

A thrust of her blade 360° around,
Above her head and then back down,
The blood bath of which she forewarned, has now come underway!
