Lovely Way to Burn
By The_Broken_Fox_2112
Something inside me keeps telling me
Keeps stabbing me
Keeps screaming
"Stop counting the stars
To where he is
Don't be conceited enough
To believe he ever wanted you
That he could ever love you
Like you love him
There are far better for him
Than you could ever be."
Maybe this is my life
Me telling myself
That all my prayers
Dreams
Hopes and beliefs
Were little more than
Nothing
It just doesn't seem fair
Not that life has ever been
But it doesn't seem fair
That love I can't reconcile
Is the reason
That a one sided love is bestowed
Upon me
The way that we meet
The heat of your being
So cold and contradictory
Gives me so much energy
But you're so cold
So... cold
You disappear
All that I wanted
Was someone like you
That burning feeling
Someone like you
To burn through me
But I won't be selfish
I will swallow my pride
Before I choke on it
I'll just write down what hurts
And set it on fire
Because I need to stay warm
With or without you
I'll roast marshmallows
Over my pain
With the stars forever lodged
In my eyes
What a lovely way to burn
What a lonely way to burn

Ah, it is too bad you didn't get to read the poetry I had up a few months ago. A lot of my writing was much darker then. I am still penning things of the darker variety, however I have started a search for myself that has transcended light and dark and has shown me that one must embrace both to live a life good enough to call well lived. Haha. Thank you so much for posting. I really do appreciate it.

Awesome writing, BF. I t seems the ones that give the most, get the least in return. And we burn for it in one way or another. Your Soulmate is out there. It's just the frustration of timing sucks and hurts the most. Hang in there, they're coming soon. Til next time -

Thank you for taking the time to read through. This piece is one of my shorter, but not so bad. :3
