Abundance
By The_Broken_Fox_2112
I walked in the land of abundance
Where once I walked in the land of frugality
Where the land was dark and dangerous
And the roads were barren for want
I stepped through a door
I found it standing in the ink of the night
Where no birds sang or insects buzzed
But I found the door
Where white light, pure as crystal drinking water
Cold and soothing
Somehow warmed me like the sun
The air was fresh and innocent
Untouched by the cruelty of man
A hint of peppermint and patchouli
Danced on the breeze
And greeted me with a sweet kiss
As color of all kinds rushed to my eyes
Flowers and veggies, water and gardens
So many I could not begin to comprehend
How far my fields did go
My ragged clothing, torn and dirty
Became a beautiful dress of soft cloth
With firm stitches
I took a small sunflower
Growing near me
And I placed it in my hair
And as if I had woven a spell
My hair grew to long tresses
Radiated copper and blonde highlights
Smiling, I continued passed the gardens
The orchards of all fruits
And into a house made of earth and glass
There was a round patio
Cobblestone laid hitherto
A swing hung from the season
Inviting me to sit
Engraving of animals adorned the wall
Foxes, wolves, bats, bunnies, cats
All playing together in the mural
Etched into the clay of the wall
From here I could see the orchards
I could see down the lane
Lined in my forever forest
Beauty left me awe inspired
Unable to speak
I got up and went to the door of the house
Surprisingly, I found it was unlocked
It was fairly large, port holed wooden entrance
The windows quartered by rounded wooden pieces
The knob turned with ease as I entered
I took my first look inside
Roomy. Very open. Comfortable
A large round table
Where a tree had once stood
Surrounded by beautiful wooden chairs
Behind a full kitchen
Dried herbs hanging from drying racks
A wall of herbs in their own planters hanging happily
In the light of huge horizontal windows
Light poured in from every inch
The dust motes swaying
Happy to be home in this moment
I continued on
I found a staircase
Comfortable length
The room I entered now contained a spirit
I could see through him
As if he were made of solid smoke
He had traveled far and wide
You could see the miles hidden behind his eyes
He told me
"Your journey is long, but you are just beginning anew
Do not lose hope. Strive for what you love,
For more is sure to come."
He hugged me, and I felt peace.
I stepped back, smiled and bowed
When I looked up again
He was gone
What was left
A room that felt relaxing
An entertainment center
Surrounded by more books than I could count
Shelving running the entire length of the walls
Until I spotted the opposite side of the room
Where a bay window seat called me to sit
I could see the far side of the property
And farther yet
Forests that stretched for miles
Pristine and glorious
The cushions were light blue
White and pink pillows lined the bed
Lace shawls of curtains billowed in the breeze
The breeze so fresh and sweet
I left this room after a time
I found the bedroom
A closet hidden by a mural of golden fields
Sunflowers happily swaying to music
Played in the wind of the blissful patrons
This room was lilty and full of love
Another guide hailed me here
Young and handsome was he
Modestly dressed, a dark coat
Fitted jeans and worn shoes
Though his appearance not particularly intriguing
He pulled me in with his energy
I fit into his body like I was supposed to be there
It felt so right and warm and encouraging
His presence pleased me
He held me close and whispered in my ear
"Time is not your enemy anymore.
Continue to grow. Find what you are missing
And we shall be."
He held me closer yet
Until we melted into one being
I smiled at him, thanking him
And he was gone
In the blink of a third eye
I looked around again
A balcony met me here
A Telescope outside of sliding glass doors
Pointed for the moon and the stars
This screen door the only thing between me and the sun
Two lavish whicker seats
With bold red cushions
And a potted plant on a small metal stand
I wondered back down stairs
Here I went to another room
One I had missed before
It was a bath room
It smelt of candles
Clean and fresh but heavy
Here blue tiles swirled underfoot
Silver and grey splashed like waves upon the walls
A shower, large enough for two, also exquisitely tiled
A wall-length mirror
I looked at myself
And for the first time I smiled at myself
As if this is who I was supposed to be
As if this is exactly what I wanted
A tub of white
A sink that looked like a geyser
Each piece as beautiful as the last
Then I saw a woman
She was older, but wonderful
In every sense of the word
She touched my forehead
Smiled and said
"Cleanse yourself of your toxins
But rejoice in your indulgences."
I felt lighter...
As if my body had become air
My joints didn't hurt
My back refreshed
I became stronger
Feeling better than I have in years
I smiled and kissed her cheek
In gratitude
Then I found my way out back
Where I found a shrine
I knew before getting there
The energy was so high
The vibration uplifting
It had a glass door I could not see through
I stepped in
21 candles were lit
An alter with all types of magic
Stones, a wand, chalice, dagger, pentagram
All of it was there
Between a rose and lavender
I found a note on the round table
At center
I walked forth and grabbed it
Written on it was
"What is it that you want?"
I smiled as I realized it was Earth
It was the universe, the cosmic
The emptiness that was our soul
All asking me my desire
"love. Happiness. Freedom."
I wrote down.
I kissed it, blessed it
Sat it back down
Turned and waked away
Every fiber of my being
Was filled with love
Filled with laughter
Filled with abundance
When I returned to my body
I quivered
Somehow I felt whole again
Watched for and Loved truly
By something greater than myself.
Author's Note:
Sunshine scribbler poem. I had a forceful astral projection that took me to this splendid place. It was so real, I could touch and taste and feel it, man. It was beautiful.Comments on "Abundance"

Today I learned my best friend is a forest nymph. No but seriously, wow. This is the most beautiful, touching thing I've read in a long while. It really makes one appreciate the earth even moreso to see another person so enamored with it. Excellent work, as if anyone would expect less of you.

Lol, all I can think about is that damn "ForestNymph" vine. THE SOUND HE MAKES WHEN HE LICKS THE ORANGE. My life will never be the same.

Although I agree that many poems seem to drag on when they get lengthy, usually mine get long because I have so much important detail that I can't possibly boil it down without losing the heart and soul of the poem. I try to simmer it, but sometimes you just have to go with length. Thanks for the time invested here, I really appreciate it!
