THERE IS NOTHING MORE / THAN WHAT WAS BEFORE
By Damon Tarloth
Lost... So Lost...
No payment to fulfill the cost!
No way back.. From the past,
Lost in a dreamland inside my head,
A land full of lies, Filled with the dead...
Pain... The Intense Pain...
Sever the reality that spin the lies,
Swallow the blade that bind our ties,
Voices of the dead fill the room,
Echoes never heard inside a hollow tomb...
Sorrow... The Never Ending Sorrow...
Memories of the past stain our tomorrow,
Tainting the soul as our demons follow,
Living in the darkness ignites their spark,
Once your shadowed or touched by the dark,
No way to cleanse the blight or remove that mark...
Horror... Horrific Dreams...
Glimpsing the future through the eyes of the dead,
Horrific images seared in my head,
Deep in a slumber the labyrinth becomes clear,
The pieces fit together when you succumb to the fear...
Fear... Unknown Fear...
So near, It's coming and becoming clear,
Unconscious acts, Emotionally detached, Relapsed,
No memory of this from the past,
No longer dormant or lying still,
Hunger takes over and it needs to kill...
Rage... The Blinding Rage...
Relentless assaults against the cage,
Exploding red, Images flash,
Insanity bred, Emotions clash,
Violent, Mentally shattered,
I am not me, But it no longer matters...
Changed... Forever Changed...
Every moment is a life time passing by,
All are damned, I hear their cries,
The dark deceptions, Unforgivable lies,
Limits of the past no longer am I confined,
No shackles, No bonds, Or words can define,
The past and future are one in the same,
I know everything except whats behind the final door,
Before this point it was a burning yellow flame,
The house of the Gods or so much more???
Answer... The Final Answer...
Many millennia have passed, But now I hold the key,
I take a step and the threshold I do break,
The past, The future, No longer can I see,
Past the point of reversing this unforeseen mistake...
Too Late... Far Too Late...
Images, Knowledge, My memories all rapidly fade,
This has all played out many times before,
The recognition of that is lost in a haze,
Never content and always lusting for more,
All paths and riddles will now start again,
Knowledge is not what lies beyond the door,
Once opened the cycle will begin...

Thank you very much. When darkness is all that there is, you begin to view everything from a different angle.

It's nice when something that I have written gives the reader something that they enjoyed and will remember. Actually, after many months of a friend telling me to share what I have written with others is the only reason I signed up.

I rather enjoyed this piece. I really enjoyed you going through a list of human emotions and outcomes, the key elements that toil. This really was an enjoyable read, very different indeed. Reproof read your work to fix the grammatical errors... Besides that, this is worthy of a ten. Oh... Hellos there and welcome to our home. Join us, will you..? :) Bows- TG

Wow... Thanks, I am actually surprised to have as much positive feedback as I have gotten. I am not sure what you mean by making the charts. It showed my poem on the front page when I posted it, but it does that for everyone. I am glad some people liked what I wrote ;)

An almost psychic vision, fluidly transitioning from one stanza to the next; the dead loop of hopelessness. Awesome concept! the many shades of darkness animated.
