In a moment of weakness
You made a mistake
A mistake that not only hurt youÂ
but someone you truly love
In a moment of darkness
You pushed them away
Left them feeling cold
Your loyalties gone astray...
You apologize for the hurt you caused them
They forgive you
Say that they are not hurt
But you can tell that they are in painÂ
Because you feel the same way
They don't realize how much you care
but because of you they've lost all trust
Think it's unfair
all those beautiful memories turned to rust...
But they still let you in
Because they truly love you
You are the only one who protects them as they protect you
From the demons trying surface from within their mind and yours
You feel as if your world is falling apart
yet you know that you create your own carnage
A broken, bruised, and battered heart
That still beats for the one who keeps it in bondage
The heart that still loves you
Longs to hold you close
To let the bruises heal and the wounds scar over
Because they endure all of it to be with you
A fairy-tale ending is what you desire
A burning passion
A never ending fire
But we all know that love is rationed...
A fairy-tale ending only comes after the painful journey
A burning passion after the cold
A never ending fire from the smoldering ash
Both of you fought too hard for the rations of love you share
To throw them away because of one mistake

WOAH. I'm feeling the torture here. Absolutely superb writing- very visual but more importantly sparks emotions that are resentful of the guilt that is festering. Beautiful, uncomfortable and positively delectable.
