girl w/flowered cup

girl w/flowered cup

I study the beauty in your eyes
from sunset to sunrise…

these words I would lace into poems for you,
as we sit in our naked reverie,
black coffee steaming in these fragile cups,
having just deserted the tangled sheets –
arena of our violent lovemaking.

then I discover the pensive look on your face,
and I know that you will leave me.
…I simply know this.

on that day, will you write a note,
compose the white lie
that your unhappiness is not my fault,

so that in my dreary days and lonely nights,
all that I’ll have to weep upon
are a note, and a photo…

(here in the frame that imprisons you,
you are morning misty romance, you are silent poetry –
and you belong to me)

(artwork is ‘Morning’ by Katerina Fasenko)

I am not sure how I missed this- her demeanor says it all for me; loud and clear. How wise you are. It's like she's staring in that tea cup hoping escaped herbs will answer her much like a magic 8 ball.

Friends, thanks. I studied this artwork for several months. I finally understood it, & added the words. of course, I'm a criminal for disturbing the silence...

Silence is heavy in this situation, the words are there, just to hard to speak maybe... You capture these instances so incredibly well. A true poet - XXOO Scholar
