The Fallen

By silentninja

In awe we wander down by the water's edge
Closer and closer shall my dark boots tread
My heart shall race from the very first step
Where the wind tries to take my breath

And yonder shall I ring that bell
As I ponder those poignant smells
Should I squander my soul as well?
Deeper we wander, as time shall tell

Will the air freeze to a crisp?
I can only stare in a breeze like this
Neglectful care shall please the risk
The tall bare barren trees so brisk

My stance then will fall upon the ground
Then dance we shall to the shrieking sound
The rattle of cans from the garbage all around
Our trance of all denial will soon be found

Our earth shall slowly fall apart
And we'll diminish all of natures art
For one and all, an ugly plague may start
And, to be honest, it has now broken my heart

The imagery in this was excellent... I'm impressed, I don't think I could write something half as good if I were drunk haha Good job xoxo

Pretty nice piece for the drunken mind & broken heart. Nice, smooth flow & well written. Worked the senses! Much enjoyed :)
