Beauty in Tears
By andhaka
Wet velvet cheek resting upon the bitter ground
Brackish tears trickling down your face
In unbridled angst you have drowned
Fallen head first, from your grace
Like shattered shards of tempered glass
Once unyielding, now lay broken in pieces
Your feathery scarlet heart has turned to brass
As the tear flow increases
Bloodshot eyes meet my own
And I can’t help but smile
Although you look contempt and alone
You’re beauty shines more profound, than in awhile
Stripped bare from the façade of joy, and sanity here you lie
Hushed torment replaced by throbbing raw anguish
With your heart ripped open, you freely cry
Little by little I see you languish
And as you fade, you grow lighter then the air
I watch your soul ride the breeze
With every howl you lose just a bit of your despair
A smudge of serenity replaces unease
Author's Note:
I can't be the only one who thinks that people look the most beautiful when they cryAwards

Fantastic and entirely relatable... I wrote a song on a similar subject before. Very nice work... I'd say keep it up but I know you will.

You must have cried so much to know this truth that only sorrow and triumph can bring to the soul. Beautiful Andy, thanks!
