Red Wedding
By andhaka
Ere the bedding, the night was alive
Guests from Winterfell blithely arrive
Candles illuminated smiles and cheers
Oblivious of impending tears
Dancing gaily to boisterous song
Twas when everything went wrong
Groom and bride left to bed
Then all the blood begun to shed
Content and bliss was razed to show
The abhorring, vengeful monster that lurked below
The queen of north, viciously stabbed dead
Repeatedly so silk gown turned red
The king was shot till an arrow sliced his chest
In pools of scarlet his carcass rest
His mother shrieked to the old gods, and new
Her son had left her without adieu
With lifeless eyes and her soul chilled
A slit to the throat and she was killed
The candles licked the shadows of deceased
Hungrily lapping the blood spilled by the beast
One was out of this chase to rule
The seven kingdoms still run by a fool
But this race isn’t over; I feel it in my bones
Just wait and see who wins this
Game of Thrones

"I've seen wet shits I like better than Walder Frey", to quote the Blackfish. Careful now, don't leave too many spoilers for those not in the know who might be watching or reading & haven't got to this critical scene yet. The book version of the wedding is more horrific & gut twisting, though the show added its own elements to heighten the horror of it all. Poor Grey Wind :(

Haven't seen the show but in the book it was such a shock as i'd never known would come. What betrayal. The old fool Frey, i'd always hated that man. Only he could have planned such a crimson waltz. ... i didn't want her to die. But...as a poet, darkly...that she ********* ** ******** ******* *** ******* was a bliss of angst. ;) Didn't want to give it all away. You captured it well here.
