Canvas

By Legions Slave

The human body
A canvas
For tattoos that tell a story
For scars that remind us of suffering we have endured
Piercings that symbolize growing up or rebellion
Accessories that tell who we are before we speak
Masks that hide the pain underneath
This canvas disappears when we expire
Buried six feet under
To rot away until it is nothing

Beautiful poem. I love the body modification references. Well done.

The body a vassal, to partake with a taste which either: in bitterness learned in life taking the essence and turning it into vinegar or to enjoy the sweet taste that lingers on your tongue as we age like a fine bottle of wine. Just my thought and my take on your lovely poem
