Adayr.

By Dei

We carved the answers to riddles into sacred oak trees

and scuffed our knees climbing back to "Reality"

"Newton always was kind of an Ass Hole."
...and we held our tongues as we said it.

Giggeling, because only We would get it.

I may be a liar, but I come by it honestly.

It must have been Faith, or Fate, or some other 'F'-word

that lead you to Find me, even before I knew I was missing.

This was read very tenderly, I saw hikes trails and ear to ear smiles. I wish I understood the quote, but its above me! Maybe its because I am the reader, and its one of those "you had to be there." moments.

though you are right, every line of this poem was written for a specific person so there are pages and pages of "inside jokes" and text wrapped up in these simple lines of poetry

it's a reference to Sir Isaac Newton. Who developed the theory of "Gravity" allegedly by having an apple fall from a tree and hit him on the head. As children we would hold our tongues in between our fingers and say "apple" and giggle over the way it sounded like "asshole". "Holding the tongue" is also a way of implying being non verbal. SO im also expressing the way that he and i dont require literal speech in order to understand each other.

Mysterious, yet revealing. The last two lines were A-1 awesome. Well done. Cool. Til next time -

Oh I know all about writing poetry for a man that just seems to get you, this seems like fun tribute to him. Only thing I did notice was a typo 'giggeling' should be 'giggling'.
