Over-Medicated?

You can take pills to stay awake.
Ignore the twitches and shakes!
Take two of these to go to sleep-
Four to make it extra deep!

The doctors
can be cold and brisk.
The benefits
outweigh the risks!
Feeling down
or too depressed?
Under-payed and
Over- stressed?
Is there a feeling,
you want to kill?
Nix that!
Fix that!
Take a Pill!

It's so simple!
A pharmaceutical allure.
You have an issue?
We have a cure!

At what point,
In this drug induced sanity,
Did we exchange "normal"
For a piece of our humanity?
