Next of Kin
By Melancholic VIncent
For so long i heard all about it
I've seen it all
The long speeches
All the certainty of the world
In the trembling voice of an insane
woman
The damage done, a torn apart family
Eviscerated with
such madness as if it were real
So much violence but nobody knew
It was well hidden, well hidden in plain sight
If only they all
could see
Through eyes of screaming silence
If only they could
hear
The deafening silence around me
Lucky is the one who
died
Maybe that was the only way
God could spare him for what
was coming
So many years has passed, so many but still...
Too few to forget
All the rage, all the pain, the seeds of madness
Still rest within
Like a furnace, they burn inside
Makes me
cry, makes me scream
But in a language nobody would understand
But i do
I do understand
All the rage's locked up for so much
time
It's gaining life of it's own
It got teeth and claws now
And it's willing to come out
In a bloody way
That is
my heritage
All treasures of deceased kings
Wouldn't make it
go away
Like a dormant beast
It sleeps in my blood and genes
The greenish in my eyes
As well as the madness of my kindred

Through knowing you and your pain i can understand and feel every single word in this poem. In some way you could see this as a synopsis of your past.. nonetheless, the pain has not been cut short in the process. You brought it out beautifully, and your bitter melancholy strikes me......
And.. 'the greenish in your eyes'? That's cute ^^

Thanks, the thing about blood and genes, my mother has greenish eyes, and i have a little bit of green too in my eyes (it's hard to notice sometimes, but there is some of it) so it's a reminder that i might carry in my genes what caused her to have schizophrenia...
