Relinquish Self

By Withering petals

Find your place on the asphalt of my existence
and forget that I ever gave you my humility -

Selfless integrity
turned to ash in the forever fire of my self consumption -

it's just another day,

followed by another empty night -

swallowed by the darkness -

throwing in the towel

...........................throwing this fight.

                                               *                     *                       *

And eloquent shades of lilac and blue
emerge from the cryptic tones
of the Silver Ashes
of a Purple Phoenix -

And dawn doesn't stand a chance
Against the midnight sky-lights of my heart -

There's more to me than meets the eye,

and trust me,

I'm the last of my kind.
