Web of Lies

By Dragonfly

I've spun myself a web of lies
Sticky and sweet like cotton candy
Soft and warm as satin sheets
Wrapped inside people warm
And stay in peace
Not knowing they've been captured
They wish to stay as much as they are forced to
And here I have found comfort as well
For I trap myself in my lies and deny myself a future
Of the positive
Only allow this facade mask to be stuck on me
Like glue
Disabling me from competing with my equals
And sticking me in child's play
I know I could conquer
So she will have to wait another day
