Eye of the Storm

By Dragonfly

Her anxious hands twitched
as she dangled me above her ocean of lies
Body swaying and dying to swim in her thoughts
but jumps back when licked with a wave.
Her hands slip and I fall into her lake of lies
past loves and tides of love.
Though as soon as I fall it calms
and a dead man's float embraces me like a sleeping position.
This calm in the eye of the storm latching on to me
and though I enjoy the float I lust for the tides that had come before.
Eventually she pulls me out again and nudges me to her shore
where things unknown roam and as if she knows now how to keep me challenged.
Rubbing
Fighting
Aching
Begging
Dancing in her love.
The natives of her land embracing me with kindness
before realizing my means of visiting.
And except me further to the point
where they expect me to grant her land with a gift.
Unexpectedly I do
and a new Island forms on her coast.
A new place of life
but to her this island is a place of shame.
A place to force me to live until I make it right
so I lived on that island and made it a home.
Gave it all the right treatment
a tight loving hold.
Then two weeks in she takes our island
and the house of dreams we built on it.
And aborts the "situation" we were having
and since then her island is guarded.
Her ocean now having those tsunamis I longed for
but now much harsher and terrifying than before.
I stay in this ocean hoping once again
to find that

Really loving these marine and nature references in this piece. I could almost feel the warm, salty surf beating against me as I floated away, thanks and well done Barney.
