***A Child's Last Lullaby***
By Dragonfly
Tuck me in and kiss my head
and send me off to my sweet bed.
Hum
of things oh so sweet;
a life that I will never meet.
Wrap
me in all my fears
whisper; smile grows from ear to ear.
Sleep
where my insecurities lie
the last place that I have to hide.
There you stand for my insecurities fate
standing here in this
place.
Abandon me with that sweet, sweet song
I hope that it
lasts quite long.
Send me off to mournful sleep
of the death
I soon will meet.
Wrap me up in words twined to cage
a final
sign of my dying age
And say that your song is too new
for
someone out of the child's room.
And sing that last finale note
and there I sink like a boat.
Then you know my birthdays near
it comes around every year.
Now I am no longer your baby, but
a full grown adult
no longer an angel, perhaps I should join the
cult.
For that's how you see me a demon of night
no longer
of dreams, but a nightmare's worst fright.

Wow......I'm sorry, I'm just, I'm speechless. Blown away. I love this. I can't explain why. It's tantalizing. It's intoxicating. Just, wow.

Children do grow up and sometimes disappoint, but parental love usually rises above all that. Very thoughtful and creative work, thanks.
