Where the Hazel Tree Grew

By Dragonfly

I wish I knew
where the Hazel tree grew
In those memories i remember
in those postcards I would send her
As we sat under that tree with our arms tangled in
and our bare bodies touching, skin against skin
With those Hazel nuts falling down from the sky
the same pretty colors as those same pretty eyes
The sun shining down with a smile to share
and the light sending highlights throughout her blond hair
Those eyes telling stories of pleasure and pain
the night sending memories of late midnight rain
Her lips against mine as she hummed in the night
because even in darkness she was my light

I still wish I knew
where that Hazel tree grew
Where the stars were not stars
and you were still you
