The Ugly Within

By Phantasmagoria

 All around me is hapiness,
While I'm stuck in loneliness...sadness.
But are those smiling faces truly happy?
Or are they masks put on to hide the beings within?...

I no longer wear the mask,
The mask of fakeness.
I see right through the beauty,
And what I find is ugly....

But its pure, its trueness,
Instead of beautiful fakeness.
Why would anyone want to be something unreal,
Beauty is only real to the eyes.

And eyes are decieving......

Therefore, I shall stay ugly.
And for all you mask wearers,
You may not agree, but just ask yourself----

Can ugly be pretty?

A person who can write something like this, in addition to being beautiful on the outside, is even more beautiful from within.

The average person considers beauty to be that of skin worth or a fair complexion, body shape, and hair length. But you find in truth that those who are sheer eye appeal usually are the ones who are internally ugly. And the ones less enchanting in appearance are the beautiful ones. I Truly Believe this. (And Just as a Compliment I don't Find you Ugly Inside or Out) Your very Talent defines your beauty. Thank you for selecting me as a favorite, it was totally unexpected. I Favor your work Highly as well. Much Appreciation and Thanks to you My Friend!

Beauty in the eye of the beholder. What if a fake person didn't know he was fake, and decided to be a fake - such that he came full circle, and was actually real! Interesting piece, thanks.
